In 2018 we were part of the team that built evolv1, a revolutionary and replicable way to build sustainable office space, and Canada’s first Zero Carbon Design Certified building.
Cora Group was very pleased with the evolv1 project and as such engaged us again to develop another dual carport system at one of their other locations. VCT engineered and manufactured our second generation aluminum solar carport connected in a net-metered configuration. This new design features improved water and snow handling features and a larger overall array for improved system performance.
This is the first project to incorporate our second generation, all-aluminum solar carport design.
Aluminum’s natural corrosion resistance means our canopies are built to endure Canada’s harsh climate without rusting. With no-weld, modular construction our canopies soar over their foundations, as graceful as they are powerful. The cantilevered design of our canopies has a very small foundation footprint relative to the span of the canopy and also provides protected space for service equipment, such as EV chargers.
