Leis Pet, Wellesley, ON
VCT Group worked with the Leis Pet Distributing and CED Co-op to design and build an optimized PV system to generate the best possible returns from their FIT 3.0 rooftop solar PV contract. After several years of reliably maintaining their system Leis Pet Distributing engaged VCT Group once again to build another solar PV project at the same site, this time in a net metered configuration. The new system includes an export control system to ensure the upstream LDC owned transformer is not operated outside of its limits.

Mixed Racking For Different Roof Types

Originally a FIT project, Leis Pet Distributing Inc.’s south-facing building with a large metal roof is a perfect fit for solar power. Different racking angles are used to maximize production on varying roof types and slopes.

Going Back For More

In 2020, VCT Group expanded the system with a net-meter installation on the roof of Leis Pet’s new addition.
