VCT Group Welcomes Strategic Investment from GrandBridge Corporation
At VCT Group, we've spent years building something we're proud of: a commercial solar, EV charging, and O&M platform that helps businesses and communities across North America move toward cleaner, more resilient energy. Today, we're excited to share a milestone in that journey: a strategic investment from GrandBridge Corporation, a municipally owned investment holding company that joins our long-standing group of shareholders.
Why This Matters
This isn't just a capital raise. It's a vote of confidence, from a respected utility-affiliated organization, in the direction our industry and our company are headed.
Clean energy has moved well beyond "nice to have." For businesses and communities across Ontario, it's become a practical, efficient, and strategic solution to real energy challenges. GrandBridge Corporation's investment reflects that shift, and we couldn't be prouder to be the company they've chosen to back as we continue to lead the charge in commercial solar.
Our President, Brian Unrau, put it well:
“This investment reflects where the industry and the policy environment are headed. We're proud to be the company GrandBridge Corporation has chosen to invest in as we lead the charge on commercial solar projects across North America, particularly in solar carports through our proprietary Heliostation™ solar carport system.”
What This Investment Will Support
Growth, for us, isn't just about doing more of the same. It's about doing it better. With this new investment, we'll be expanding our platform in two key areas:
Product development — continuing to refine and expand offerings such as our Heliostation™, our carport system engineered with our proprietary water management technology.
Remote monitoring systems — strengthening the technology that helps us keep projects performing at their best, long after installation day.
Just as important: nothing about our leadership or day-to-day operations is changing. Brian and the rest of our leadership team remain firmly in place, guiding this next chapter the same way we've guided the last one — with a focus on our customers and the communities we serve.

A Partner Who Understands the Grid
GrandBridge Corporation isn't just an investor; it's an organization deeply embedded in the energy transition happening across Ontario. As the parent company of GrandBridge Energy Inc., which delivers electricity to 116,000 customers across Brantford, Cambridge, North Dumfries, and Brant County, GrandBridge understands firsthand what's driving demand for distributed energy: electrification, community growth, and the need for new generation that can come online quickly.
Sarah Hughes, President and CEO of GrandBridge Corporation, shared why this partnership made sense for them:
“As electricity demand continues to rise, driven by electrification and growth in our communities, distributed solar represents a practical and cost-effective option for adding new generation quickly... We have been impressed by the VCT Groups dedication to developing innovative solar solutions, such as the proprietary Heliostation™ carport system, their customer-focused approach in developing custom solar solutions, and their strong connection to the communities where they operate.”
Distributed solar projects like ours also give customers a way to plug into programs like Save on Energy and Net Metering — and when paired with innovative grid programs like GrandBridge Energy's GridShare Local Capacity Auction, these resources can meaningfully ease pressure on local electricity systems.
Looking Ahead
With more than 300 projects completed across North America, spanning rooftop solar, EV charging, and O&M services for commercial and residential clients, we've built our reputation on solutions engineered to last and centred on the customer. This investment doesn't change that foundation. It strengthens it, giving us the resources to bring Heliostation™ and our broader platform to more communities, faster, and to keep raising the bar on the technology behind it.
We're grateful to GrandBridge Corporation for believing in what we've built, and even more excited about what we'll build next.
